Bear update: The Bear says We Have Mounted A Four-Sided Attack Against The Wallen Ridge Pirate Party. TR says, “We will practice our attack on the Old Man.” Moose say, “You’re too lazy, Bear!” Lou says we will serve Four Foods.
We woke up to clouds. Will they last? No! It got sunny. The temperature in Bedford climbed to 83. It didn’t rain, though it looked as if it might at lunch time.

We woke up at 7:30AM. We got dressed and went to McDonalds for breakfast. We called people and downloaded email. Kenny practiced driving his car. I charged up my computer after using it at breakfast. We transferred items to Kenny’s car for the first time in a month. We loaded up the car and checked out of room 106 at 10:07AM. Our first pit stop was at Rutter’s in Carlisle. It was off the road and hard to find. We got gas and a flat of water. It’s a nuisance getting off the turnpike and trying to find some place to stop. It should be much easier. The second pit stop was the Blue Mountain Service Plaza where we ate lunch at Roy Rogers. We kept just ahead of the crowd. By the time I was through the line Roy Rogers was crowded. We called people again. We downloaded email. There was a stop sign before getting back on the road immediately into a construction zone where cars were supposed to be going 40mph but were going faster. We drove through Blue Mountain Tunnel and then Kittany Tunnel one right after the other. The third pit stop was at Sideling Hill. We stopped there going the other direction in early July a little more than one month ago. After we left Sideling Hill we climbed over a hill into a fog area. Fortunately there was no fog today. We stopped in Breezewood as our fourth pit stop to go to Sheetz. But it totally disappointed us. They had no ice cream left. We got stuck in a senseless traffic jam on the way out of the parking lot. That’s the subject of my blog for today. We finally got off the Turnpike at Bedford for today at 2:02PM and headed for the McDonalds. I remember being here before eating breakfast. I recalled that there was something important just around the corner from the dining area. I went there again, not remembering what it was. It found Ty Beanie Babies and bought a key chain for Christine. I also got an elephant. Gary called people and made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express in West Mifflin. It’s the closest pet-friendly place to Bethel Park. We checked into the same place we stayed here last time, the Bedford Inn. We tried to stay at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott, but they wanted a cash deposit. We went to dinner at a place Kenny picked out, Ed’s Steakhouse. We got dessert at RG’s Food Shop. We finished the laundry. Gary wrote Farmer. He also talked to him on the cell phone. Then we cleaned out the backseat of the car to make room for the pets.
Breezewood Doesn’t Have A Reason To Exist 8/6/12
We stopped at Breezewood to go to Sheetz to get ice cream. Not only was it out of stock, but we got stuck in a monstrous traffic jam getting out of the place. We were bumper to bumper at a red light that had straffic backing up in the parking lot. We barely got out on the road before we got stuck in another traffic jam. A car was tucked next to our bumper. It could have run into us from behind!
Really Breezewood shouldn’t be there at all. The Town of Motels should be just another exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and not a place where all traffic must go jamming onto the Turnpike from the south. It’s a traffic hazard. I don’t know of anything quite like it in any other state.
Still no contract . . .
