Murder at Stone Tree House:
Dora and Edward must make their way down Route 66. They get the message in Chicago when they are fleeing from a movie theater with King Kong chasing them. Route 66 begins in Chicago as a gateway to the west. They set off right away to meet Churchill’s messenger so they can hand over the Lawrence maps which are like hot potatoes. They can’t get rid of them fast enough before someone tries to murder them. As the German agents sent by Hitler know — they are the key to world domination in the 1930’s.
Dora and Edward drive through Illinois and Missouri, Oklahoma, too. They can’t get to New Mexico fast enough and finally zoom across the border to Arizona. They are to meet Churchill’s agent at the Stone Tree House in the northern part of Petrified Forest National Monument just outside Holbrook, Arizona. Surrounded by the Painted Desert the building made of petrified stone millions of years old sits waiting for Dora and Edward with its doors open. But no one is there. No one answers when they call out. Suddenly a man falls out of his seat onto the floor dead. The German agents got him! What shall they do next?
