The Old Faithful Plot ends at the Old Faithful Geyser and Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. The geyser and its regular eruptions are part of the climactic scene of the alternative history thriller novel. It’s enough to give you thrills and chills but wouldn’t that be even more true if the geyser could erupt in your face as it were or at least on your own desktop?
Thanks to the National Park website nps.gov such a thing is now possible. You can tune in each and every day no matter what the time of year to watch Old Faithful erupt in all its glory. The National Park Service operates a webcam. Here is the link. From now on Cheops Books LLC is going to display the link on the Old Faithful Plot page of the website: http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org. It will keep you in the right mood for reading the book. You know you can turn to it when you are in the mood. Our author Dora Benley tells us that she was constantly watching the geyser erupt as she was writing the novel. We can tell. You will be able to also.

There are only two types of poisonous lizards in North America, the Mexican beaded lizard and the Gila Monster. Both are found in the Southwest Desert, and one makes an appearance in Old Faithful Plot. The novel takes place in 1933 from New York City along the Lincoln Highway to Yellowstone National Park. This is one thousand miles north of the desert, so how does the Gila Monster appear? That will be left to the reader’s imagination. But suffice it to say that Hitler and his two chief spies, Helga and Herr von Wessel, are busy inventing ways to terrify Edward and Dora. They think a horrible lizard or two just might terrify them into handing over the Lawrence maps, key to world domination.
This is certainly an alternative history thriller with no holds barred. Hitler is already plotting to overthrow the world order and change history itself. He wants to penetrate a time tunnel he has discovered in Yellowstone, go back and history, and change what happens. He wants Germany to win the Great War and put him in an even stronger position. And he knows just who to assassinate to make this happen. And if you can throw in a monster or two to terrify people, the Dictator would be quite happy to oblige.

How does Dora do it? She is always off on a journey or she is always flying from an enemy at a moment’s notice. But she has to always look like an heiress who has plenty of money for Edward’s sake. She is his power point with all her millions of dollars. She always carries plenty of cash with her.
Dora Benley might always be packing her suitcase, but when she is surprised and does not have a chance, how does she make sure her coiffure looks news? How does she look “put together”? In the upcoming alternative history thriller that takes place in June of 1935, Old Faithful Plot, she is meeting Edward at the pier in Manhattan for one of his flying visits to tryst with her. But they are both surprised by Hitler’s spies. They must flee towards Yellowstone. Dora cannot even pack her bag. She must take what she has in her hands at that very moment.
What does Dora always have in her hands? What does she never let go of? In this she packs her most necessary possessions. It is her elephant tapestry bag. This is a stylish handbag that is quite unique and reminds one of the era of the elegant thirties. This leather bag has enough compartments to fit everything from cold cash to her checkbook to her letters of credit to her passport to various maps including a Lawrence map or two if necessary. That is in addition to her makeup and various toiletry items for overnight stays. She might not be able to change her clothes, but she wants to make sure her hairdo is topnotch even in the wilds of Yellowstone National Park. What does she never forget? Her elephant tapestry bag. It is as necessary as Edward’s gun. In fact, it is where Dora always carries her own.

The Cheops Pyramid has always represented Cheops Books LLC. Why? It is a symbol of ancient Egypt and the ancient world in general and it seems mysterious, as if its meaning is always eluding you because there is always something you don’t expect and something you don’t know about, and we hope that our readers will always find our books that way, too.
The Cheops Pyramid is an Old Kingdom Pyramid also called the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Pyramid of Khufu. It is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza complex at 455 feet built of 2.3 million stone blocks. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to still look something the way it did in ancient times. That is the symbol we always put on our book cover.
Now we propose another symbol to add to our website, the ancient Egyptian symbol of Bastet, the cat goddess. We frequently include cats in our thriller novels because cats are elusive and mysterious animals. They were considered sacred in ancient Egypt. They are sacred to Cheops Books, LLC, too. So don’t wonder when you find cats decorating sections of the website and pages in the novels along with the Cheops Pyramid.

Irene moves with her parents to the wilds of Montana so her parents can work in Yellowstone studying bears and other wild creatures. It is bad enough to be away from her friends in the middle of nowhere. She even gets a weirdo note in the mail from her old boyfriend who did not want her to go that threatens that the bears are going to eat her. But their new house is strange, too. It is full of old portraits on the walls. One of them is particularly compelling. An elegant lady from the nineteenth century with a fancy necklace is starting straight at her. Irene cannot look away. No matter where she goes in the room she cannot escape it. It creeps into her dreams. Is this house haunted? Or did somebody put the portrait there to scare her away? Maybe it wasn’t her former boyfriend after all who had sent the threatening notes about bears. Who doesn’t like her? She had better figure it out, or Irene might end up dead.
Ancestress was originally published in German by Cora Verlag, Harper Collins Germany. It is now brought to you by Edward Ware Thrillers YA, an imprint of Cheops Books, LLC. Hitler Strikes At Iconic US Symbol Old Faithful:
Old Faithful Geyser, unlike any other on earth, erupts on a regular basis in Yellowstone National Park, perhaps every hour to ninety minutes. Ever since its discovery in the mid nineteenth century after which it almost immediately became a national park, it has become a symbol of America and the American West, the American wilderness. It is famous the world over. It is also well known that it sits on top of an enormous geyser basin as well as dormant volcanic cone so large that all of Yellowstone National Park is nothing more than a volcanic caldera waiting to happen someday all too soon.
Adolf Hitler heard about this geyser basin in isolationist America in the 1930’s when figures like Thomas Dewey of the America First Party wanted nothing to do with European politics. He wanted to encourage America to develop a Dewey-like attitude. He wanted Americans like Dora Benley, daughter of America First fund raiser, Winthrop Benley, to hand over whatever documents he wanted so he could force the British to come to terms with him. He demanded that she hand over the Lawrence maps, key to world domination, that she just happens to have in her back pocket. They were given to her by her lover, Colonel Sir Edward Ware, friend of Winston Churchill, his arch enemy, though he is still a backbencher.
Dora and Edward hide in Yellowstone near Old Faithful, but that only encourages Hitler to threaten them big time. That iconic American symbol would destroy America by blowing up if they don’t hand over the maps in Old Faithful Plot, an alternative history thriller coming soon from Cheops Books LLC.

Mysterious Old Faithful Inn: Dora and Edward dine at the iconic Old Faithful Inn when hiding out at Yellowstone National Park in 1934. The huge log structure, the biggest in the United States, is dark inside despite all its windows. The dining room resembles the Great Hall of a European castle or palace it is so large, and vast, and it has such a high ceiling. Given to weird decorations in the lobby that look like forked weapons, it easily looks ominous and might be well placed in a fantastical horror story, perhaps with supernatural creatures. Given this sort of atmosphere it is the perfect setting for spies and intrigue. Dora and Edward are trying to hide military maps that hold the key to world domination. Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor and Fuhrer of Germany, has sent key snoops to spook him out and uncover his dark secrets. After weeks of a chase across the country on the Lincoln Highway, the adversaries meet face to face in the dining room of the Old Faithful Inn next to the geyser basin itself.
In a setting like this anything could happen. Hitler has ideas not only to blow up the United States using the supervolcano slumbering only yards away from the Old Faithful dining room, but to potentially change history itself. He wants to go back in time to ancient Rome to meet the one man who could change the course of German history so that Hitler and his fellows would win instead of lose the Great War. With that in mind, Hitler wants to eliminate all competition as he rolls up Europe and perhaps the rest of the world with moves made here in the Old Faithful Inn dining room.

Dora Encounters Bears, Not Buffalo: When Dora and Edward flee to Yellowstone, making a car journey across the United States via the Lincoln Highway in 1934, they encounter all sorts of obstacles both natural and man made. Not the least of these obstacles is not the buffalo but bears. Dora and Edward are fresh from New York City. That is where they usually tryst at the Waldorf Astoria. Edward is from London before that. Neither are accustomed to the wilds of North America. But no sooner do they arrive than they sit at a picnic table along the Madison River near the West Entrance looking for a spy sent by Winston Churchill, the backbencher Parliamentarian back in Britain who is also part of their map plot. While trying to avoid Hitler they run into a grizzly bear.
But little do they realize that the black bear or the grizzly bear is not the most dangerous creature in the park. It never has been. Decade after decade the biggest animal obstacle is the bison, or buffalo, which can suddenly appear as a herd blocking traffic for many minutes if not for half an hour or a whole hour. Because they don’t look dangerous tourists often tend to go after them and can get injured.
Perhaps Dora and Edward were lucky this time. Who knows what they will encounter on their second visit to the park in another upcoming novel in the Edward Ware Thrillers at War series.

Cheops Books: Thrillers About Volcanoes: Cheops Books LLC has published a young adult thriller novel about volcanoes, Death by Volcano. It is about the Mount St. Helens eruption in Washington state. It is presented from the point of view of a teenage girl who happens to move to the area with her parents and encounters goblins from the past in the shadow of the volcano. The whole area is haunted, and she finds herself getting more than chills and thrills. She almost gets killed, and not by a mere volcano.
This year Cheops Books LLC plans on publishing its second novel about volcanoes, the Old Faithful Plot. Hitler pursues Dora and Edward across the country. He sends his two chief spies, Frau and Herr von Wessel. They are to find the Lawrence maps at any cost and make Dora and Edward give them up — or they threaten to blow up Yellowstone National Park where Dora and Edward are hiding out. Hitler has learned that Yellowstone sits on a supervolcano that could go off at any moment. He figures he knows how to do it, and that would put the US at risk and out of his way.
Volcanoes are a little understood and very threatening natural phenomenon. Dormant volcanoes could start erupting again. Earthquakes could set things in motion. Evil scientific geniuses could exploit volcanoes that already exist. But they do form an exciting background for a thriller.
