More War Novels To Be Published By Cheops Books LLC:

Cheops Books LLC will soon publish two more books in the Edward Ware Thrillers at War Series, Unlocking Trinity and Caesar’s Lost Legions, both by Dora Benley.

In Unlocking Trinity the Ware’s little girl has been kidnapped by Hitler and forced to live with him at the Berghof. But when Hitler commits suicide in his Berlin Bunker on April 30, 1945, what happens to the child who has been indoctrinated as a Nazi, who has forgotten that English is her native language?

Her biological father, General Lord Edward Ware, must defy Eisenhower’s order to leave Berlin to the Russians. He must get to her before Stalin’s henchwoman does. It becomes a race to Trinity in the wilds of New Mexico in the birth trauma of the Cold War.

In Caesar’s Lost Legions Caesar Augustus has sent Caelius Antonius to the Roman province of Germania in 9 AD to draw a map of wonders that will lead the legions to a promised land as far East as the River Elbe. There are reports of a a sea port that would serve as a highway to lands as yet unnamed.

Augustus ward, Arminius, a model German turned Roman, has volunteered to lead the legions of Varus there. Caelius awakens one night to find a symbol of Thor’s hammer engraved in the tree bark outside his tent. He senses a spy from some disaffected tribe watching him. He reports the spy to Varus who defers to Arminius. Arminius says that all the Germans are of course watching, delighted that the Romans have come to civilize their benighted country.

Evidence builds of a conspiracy. Caelius reports it to Augustus back in Rome personally. But Augustus refuses to listen. Arminius was his ward who had lived in his house in Rome, and Caesar had never had a son of his own. Arminius was his blind spot. As a warning to Caelius, Caelius’s wife is kidnapped. No matter what Caelius must defend his maps to the death. They hold the key to Rome’s future. He hopes that neither he nor his wife must die to realize it.

Join Edward’s long ago ancestor, Caelius, in his adventures on the far frontiers of the Roman Empire in Germany. They echo the adventures his latter day descendant, Edward Ware, will someday face in his own map plots against the latter-day Germans.

Edward Ware Thrillers Newsletter May, 2018:

Armistice Plot will appear at the ALA Convention in New Orleans at the IBPA Cooperative Booth. After that it will be published on October 1, the day that Lawrence and Edward drove into Damascus to end the Great War on that front.

Lieutenant Edward Ware fights the Kaiser and Adolf Hitler in a century gone insane.
The novel Armistice Plot begins at an archaeological site at Carchemish in 1914 as Edward Ware’s father and Leonard Woolley close down their dig in the face of war. As Edward peers into the tent at midnight he sees a dark-robed intruder brushing past the figurine of an ancient Hittite king that he and T.E.Lawrence excavated at Carchemish this summer in 1914. Is this a spy sent by the Germans to steal the maps Lawrence is sketching for the British military? Edward first encounters the vamp who will haunt the rest of his life prowling among the finds, looking for the military maps that his fellow archaeologist T. E.Lawrence is drawing for the British government. All during the ensuing Great War Edward must fight to keep the maps secret.

Finally during the Battle of Damascus Edward and Lawrence defeat the Turks and make them sue for peace. They will sign the Armistice ending the war. But the vamp, though imprisoned in Damascus, escapes. Edward must chase her down. There are hints that she is fleeing to join with the Austrian corporal, Adolf Hitler, who is beginning a new movement in Munich. Signs of a new war appear on the horizon though the first has just come to an end with an Armistice that isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

This is an historical thriller about Edward’s contest to the death first with the German Kaiser and then with Hitler himself. It will determine the woman he will marry and the woman he will not. It will drive him to the brink of madness in a century gone insane.

Hitler’s Chief Spy is to be published this Friday, May 18. We are going to hold a party on our website: http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org in a chat room.

Old Faithful Plot will be published on June 16.

While they are hiding out from Dora’s husband at the Old Faithful Lodge in 1933, Dora and Edward are also hiding Lawrence maps that Churchill has given them and which Hitler would do anything to get his hands on. Enter Helga and Herr von Wessel, Hitler’s top spies. They warn Colonel Sir Edward Ware and Dora that either they hand over the top secret maps, key to world domination, or they will blow up Yellowstone National Park. They will turn the famous geyser basin into volcanic rubble – and the rest of America, too, which would be buried in volcanic ash just like Pompeii. And if that doesn’t work they have an even darker plot up their sleeves, one that would change history itself.

Questions For May 18 Debate For Hitler’s Chief Spy:

Two reporters, one pro Trump and one anti Trump, debate Hitler vs. Trump. Mr. Anderson is pro Trump and Mr. Foster is anti Trump. The debate will not take place on Facebook. It will take place on the Cheops Books LLC website at http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org at 2PM on Friday, May 18, one week from today. That is the day when Hitler’s Chief Spy will be published on Amazon Kindle.

The questions for the debate are as follows:

1)How many treaties did Hitler tear up? How many did Trump tear up?
2)Did Trump act like a 1930s dictator when he tore up the Iran Nuclear Deal?
3)What was the worse deal, the Anglo-German Naval Treaty or the Iran Nuclear Deal?
4)Who was the more clever politician, Hitler or Trump?

Paperbacks With Illustrations by Cheops Books LLC:

Cheops Books LLC issues all their titles in paperback but you have to go to the website to buy them at http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org. They are not sold on Amazon.

Dora Benley says, “I always used to like to think that each novel was a world unto itself and should have its own housing or real estate if you will. That’s what it had to be a printed book and even the cover mattered a good deal, even the spine of the book and how it was put together. I do remember going to the Carnegie Library in downtown Pittsburgh when I was in high school and delighting in their collection of rare and antique books with leather binding. I loved even the smell of books in those days.”

In keeping with this frame of mind we also offer many fully illustrated editions such as Julia: A Romance or Salisbury Affair. All covers are drawn by cover artists such as Daniel Teran. Cheops Books LLC  takes care in putting this editions together.

Yellowstone Article Like Old Faithful Plot:

Today there is an article on weather.com about Yellowstone the Supervolcano. It is called Yellowstone Caldera: Next Eruption Could Be A Major Disaster. The article suggests that the park and scientists should start monkeying around with the volcano which is against park service philosophy. In the soon to be published historical thriller novel Old Faithful Plot by Dora Benley, Hitler has the von Wessels monkeying around with Old Faithful as part of a plot. That is what this article reminds me of.

Here are some lines from the article. I wonder if sensational articles like this have increased tourism to the park:

The ash spewed by such an explosion could create a global “volcanic winter” by blanketing parts of continents with soot.

To help prevent such a catastrophic event, the researchers suggested drilling into the peak to extract heat and pump water through it. The water would circulate and reach more than 600 degrees Fahrenheit before coming back out, which could slowly remove heat from the peak and prevent it from erupting.

“It has been suggested that the hydrothermal circulation at Yellowstone may cool the underlying magma and may lead to decreased long-term volcanic hazards,” wrote the scientists.

More research needs to be done to figure out how to best protect the planet from a supervolcano eruption, the researchers also said.

Did Edward Ware’s Ancestor Fight In The Punic Wars?

Colonel Sir Edward Ware is known to have quite a pedigree, at least as long as the Queen’s. He can trace his ancestry back to ancient Rome. His ancestor, Lucius Antonius, fought with Julius Caesar in the Alexandrian War. He was the grandfather of Caelius Antonius, mapmaker for the Roman legions who were massacred by ancient Germans at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

And Caelius Antonius was the grandfather of Caius Antonius, an assistant of the famous Latin encyclopedia writer, Pliny the Elder, who helped the famous essayist escape an attack of the Germans at the time of Vesuvius and Pompeii.

But before that farther back in the history of Rome did Colonel Sir Edward Ware have a Roman progenitor who fought against Hannibal in the Punic Wars? Believe it or not it may be so. Recently archaeological evidence indicates it. An early collection of documents yet to be completely translated has been found in a key location.

A Gaius Antonius —- same clan name as Edward —- was appointed by the Roman who later became the great victor, Scipio Africanus, to make drawings of what he saw in Carthage in the way of siege machines and weapons when visiting on the pretext of being an ambassador of sorts to Carthage. And where were these documents found? At the Punic Wall in the modern day Spanish city of Cartegena in southern Spain just across the straits from Africa and Carthage and not far from modern day Gibraltar.

The Punic Wall was what used to protect the ancient Carthagenian city in Spain. What story does this wall have to tell? These letters may tell us. Cheops Books LLC has just acquired the rights to translate them and reveal to the world their long hidden tale.
