Miss Dora Benley has an enemy in Paris Peace Plot. She does not know who it is. Somebody is watching her board the Lusitania on May 1, 1915 on the Cunard pier in New York. Aboard the ship eyes follow her everywhere she goes.

When she arrives in England her fiance’s gardener watches Miss Dora Benley, the American heiress, perpetually. When Lieutenant Edward Ware is off fighting with Lawrence of Arabia, saboteurs make her Pittsburgh trolley jump the tracks and crash. She discovers a murderous thug inside her shed in the South Hills of Pittsburgh where her father has his estate.

She has reason to believe that the terrorists are following her fiance during his battles with Lawrence in the Syrian Desert. Near the end of the war Edward is kidnapped and disappears. She travels to Europe to find him and meets with Lawrence of Arabia during the Paris Peace Conference in early 1919.

But sure enough dark eyes once again follow her every move.

What do these mysterious saboteurs want with Dora? Edward? They have followed her and her fiance through the entire Great War and beyond. Will Dora and Edward survive the Paris Peace Conference? Will they survive the war? Read Paris Peace Plot and find out.

2 Alternative History Thrillers By Cheops Books:

In an age of fantasy, alternative history thrillers loom large. Cheops Books LLC has published two of them, Old Faithful Affair and Dark Horse.

Hitler threatens Colonel Ware that if he doesn’t hand over the Lawrence maps, he will detonate the supervolcano at Yellowstone in Old Faithful Affair.

While they are hiding out from Dora’s husband at the Old Faithful Lodge in 1933, Dora and Edward are also hiding Lawrence maps that Churchill has given them and which Hitler would do anything to get his hands on.

Enter Helga and Herr von Wessel, Hitler’s top spies. They warn Colonel Sir Edward Ware and Dora that either they hand over the top secret maps, key to world domination, or they will blow up Yellowstone National Park. They will turn the famous geyser basin into volcanic rubble – and the rest of America, too, which would be buried in volcanic ash just like Pompeii.

And if that doesn’t work they have an even darker plot up their sleeves, one that would change history itself.

Old Faithful Affair is an Edward Ware Thrillers Alternative History book.

In Dark Horse what would happen if Hitler won the Battle of Dunkirk? Colonel Sir Edward Ware is about to find out when Rommel pushes him off the French beach with all his troops and then beats him to Britain in 1940. The chase ends up in Coronado, California, land of palm trees, the rich and famous — and swastikas!

It’s all ahead to the Republican Convention of 1940 in Philadelphia where a dark horse candidate is being selected with major international complications and plenty of Nazi involvement.

Can Britain ever be the same as it was again? Can the world? Edward better figure it all out soon, or Colonel Ware will end up doing the straight arm salute in this alternative history thriller.

Less Than One Week Until The 100th Anniversary Of The End Of The War:

World War 1 was over 100 years ago on November 11, 1918, Armistice Day. Cheops Books LLC has published two books this autumn to commemorate the event, Armistice Plot and Paris Peace Plot by Dora Benley.

The novel Armistice Plot begins at an archaeological site at Carchemish in 1914 as Edward Ware’s father and Leonard Woolley close down their dig in the face of war. As Edward peers into the tent at midnight he sees a dark-robed intruder brushing past the figurine of an ancient Hittite king that he and T.E.Lawrence excavated at Carchemish this summer in 1914.

Is this a spy sent by the Germans to steal the maps Lawrence is sketching for the British military? Edward first encounters the vamp who will haunt the rest of his life prowling among the finds, looking for the military maps that his fellow archaeologist T. E.Lawrence is drawing for the British government.

All during the ensuing Great War Edward must fight to keep the maps secret. Finally during the Battle of Damascus Edward and Lawrence defeat the Turks and make them sue for peace. They will sign the Armistice ending the war. But the vamp, though imprisoned in Damascus, escapes. Edward must chase her down.

There are hints that she is fleeing to join with the Austrian corporal, Adolf Hitler, who is beginning a new movement in Munich. Signs of a new war appear on the horizon though the first has just come to an end with an Armistice that isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

Armistice Plot is an historical thriller about Edward’s contest to the death first with the German Kaiser and then with Hitler himself. It will determine the woman he will marry and the woman he will not. It will drive him to the brink of madness in a century gone insane.

Review For Armistice Plot:

Armistice Plot by Dora Benley, just published by Cheops Books LLC on October 1, got an interesting review on Amazon where you can buy the Kindle version.

Here is the review by Anne:

Armistice Plot by Dora Benley is an interesting start to what I hope is a series. This story starts at archaeological site at Carchemish in 1914. There is where Edward Ware’s father and Leonard Woolley close down their dig in the face of war which is a reminder of how war affects everyday life. There are secret maps which must be protect a vamp who is involved usually on the wrong side as you travel and see Europe during the Great War. Said vamp is left supposedly fleeing to see an Austrian corporal. Meanwhile Edward helps T. E. Lawrence during the war and faces death against the Kaiser and Hitler. This historical thriller brings in some interesting elements of the early 20th century. It also has a little romance added to the adventure and history. It kept my attention.

New Book Cover Should Arrive For Caesar’s Lost Legions:

Attached to this blog post today should be the new book cover for Caesar’s Lost Legions completed by Daniel Teran, the cover artist for Cheops Books, LLC.

Caesar Augustus has sent Caelius Antonius to the Roman province of Germania in 9 AD to draw a map of wonders that will lead the legions to a promised land as far East as the River Elbe. There are reports of a a sea port that would serve as a highway to lands as yet unnamed.

Augustus ward, Arminius, a model German turned Roman, has volunteered to lead the legions of Varus there. Caelius awakens one night to find a symbol of Thor’s hammer engraved in the tree bark outside his tent. He senses a spy from some disaffected tribe watching him. He reports the spy to Varus who defers to Arminius. Arminius says that all the Germans are of course watching, delighted that the Romans have come to civilize their benighted country.

Evidence builds of a conspiracy. Caelius reports it to Augustus back in Rome personally. But Augustus refuses to listen. Arminius was his ward who had lived in his house in Rome, and Caesar had never had a son of his own. Arminius was his blind spot. As a warning to Caelius, Caelius’s wife is kidnapped. No matter what Caelius must defend his maps to the death. They hold the key to Rome’s future. He hopes that neither he nor his wife must die to realize it.

Join Edward’s long ago ancestor, Caelius, in his adventures on the far frontiers of the Roman Empire in Germany. They echo the adventures his latter day descendant, Edward Ware, will someday face in his own map plots against the latter-day Germans.

Lawrence Rides Into Damascus And Ends the War:

100 years ago tomorrow, October 1, T. E. Lawrence, Colonel Lawrence, and General Allenby rode into Damascus, Syria to accept the surrender of the city after defeating the Turks in the Battle of Damascus. The Turks had surrendered and now were willing to sign the Armistice ending the Mesopotamian Theater in World War 1.

At 2PM Pacific Time on October 1 Cheops Books LLC will be commemorating this end of the war with a debate on our website: http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org. Go to the chat room set up under the book being published about the event on October 1 called Armistice Plot by Dora Benley. It will be available either on Amazon Kindle or Smashwords or in paperback on our website only.

Join the debate between an average American who thinks only of the present and Gary Cargill who has just authored a book about his ancestors during WW1. If you think World War 1 was not important, the debate may change your mind.

New Cover For Egyptian Spy:

The new cover for Egyptian Spy by Dora Benley, another Edward Ware Thrillers at War novel, has arrived from the cover artist, Daniel Teran. You can see it featured in this blog post. It is very colorful and dramatic. Since it includes the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx it will also become a future symbol of the entire Cheops Books website. Cheops, after all, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh.

Dora, Lady Ware, her husband, Colonel Sir Edward Ware, his boss, Wickie, and Wickie’s wife, Jane, all travel to the Sphinx outside Cairo for the Christmas holidays when Edward’s mother, the Dowager Lady Ware, comes to visit in the 1930’s between the wars.

There are mystery figures hanging about even on top of the Sphinx and Dora cannot quite make them out. When she is left alone for a moment, a stalker approaches her and threatens her if she does not hand over the military maps that they want.

She flees and the stalker chases her. She finds herself on top of the Sphinx with a spitting cobra, only to be saved by Leopold, a young man who has befriended her.

But he is suddenly gunned down. But whom? And who is Leopold? Dora had better find out or she could soon be dead, too, in Egyptian Spy, a new thriller by Dora Benley.
