Captive At The Berghof At Frankfurt Book Fair:
Today is the beginning of the Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany. It will go through Sunday, October 15. All during that time Cheops Books LLC will be displaying Captive at the Berghof: Part 1 in German translation, the third book of the Edward Ware Thrillers at War Series. It is the first book that Cheops Books LLC has ever translated into a foreign language. But we thought it was particularly appropriate because the historical thriller is about Hitler and the Third Reich. The novel will be on display at the IBPA booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Hitler has found out about Colonel Sir Edward Ware’s secret undercover activities for Winston Churchill, and he’s playing hardball. He kidnaps Thomasina, Edward’s daughter, and won’t give the child back unless Edward and his wife, Dora, hand over the key to world domination – the Lawrence maps. They’d better do something fast before Thomasina truly becomes Hitler’s daughter.

Hitler’s Chief Spy Is Hitler’s Agent:
The villainess, Helga von Wessel, Hitler’s chief spy, struts boldly from page to page of this thriller with Europe at her back and all sorts of ambitious notions in her head during the lead up to WW2. As far as she is concerned it isn’t Hitler’s Reich. It is Helga’s Reich. She will wrap the hero, Colonel Sir Edward Ware, Churchill’s spy, around her little finger to prove it. Nor does it matter what Edward’s American wife, Dora, says. Hitler’s Agent, about Hitler’s chief spy, is the sixth volume of the Edward Ware Thrillers at War Series. It will be published by Cheops Books LLC on October 15 in a special Kindle Edition of the historical thriller.
Chapter 1 in July of 1935 opens with a passage where the Colonel cannot find his wife:
Edward looked from one end of Hamburg Harbor
to the other, searching for his wife.
“Have you seen Lady Ware?” he asked Brigadier “Wickie” Roberts.
His superior was about to board the Deutschland.
The ship featured the new Hitler turret, which they had
just gotten a chance to review in the parade of ships up
the Elbe River. He and Brigadier Roberts were part of
the British military mission sent to Germany by Prime
Minister Baldwin to celebrate the recent signing of the
Anglo-German Naval Treaty.
The brigadier shrugged. “Not recently.”
“When was the last time you saw Dora?” Edward
“Right before the parade of ships. She was in a
heated discussion with Frau von Wessel, you know, the
wife of the Commercial Attaché at the German Embassy
The German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, had been
doing his best to distract Edward with probing questions.
Frau von Wessel, Hitler’s chief spy, was likely after his
wife about the same thing that Hitler was after him for
— the Lawrence maps.

Pliny: A Novel Has A New Cover:
In Pliny: A Novel the grandson of the hero of Augustus: A Novel, Caius Antonius — who is also an ancestor of the hero of the Edward Ware Thriller Series, Colonel Sir Edward Ware — is working for Pliny the Elder in 79AD. Pliny is the Roman governor of Germany and is residing in Trier on the Moselle River. Suddenly a German warrior attacks the governor’s residence and throws a warning into his reflecting pond. It is payback time for the Romans. The Germans want revenge.
The Germans kicked the Romans out of their province in 9AD in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. But Germanicus returned five years later to make the Germans pay. What will happen next? That is up to Caius to discover, or the German warriors may push Pliny and the Romans out of Germany all together. This time they may even follow them all the way back to Italy in Pliny: A Novel, part 2 of Augustus: A Novel, coming soon from Cheops Books, LLC. It is the latest book in the Edward Ware Thriller Series.

She’s moved to California with her employers, the Shipleys, and taken on a permanent babysitting position with Little Katie. Suddenly there’s a kidnapping attempt on the rich little heiress that Bianca is employed to protect. To the rescue comes a tall, dark young man who reminds her of somebody she’s lost. On November 1 Cheops Books LLC will publish Dark 1 by Dora Benley, the novel that was once part of the Scholastic Point Horror Series. Bianca Winters is babysitting Katie Shipley, the newborn heiress across the Street when one Friday night the lights go out and she hears the housekeeper screaming. She goes upstairs to confront an intruder and save the baby from her crib. The housekeeper falls to her death. From that night on Bianca cannot remember anything about that night, least of all the face of the murderer. But when her memory starts to come back two years later she gets the feeling he is waiting out there to kill her.
On November 8 Cheops Books LLC will publish Dark 2 by Dora Benley, the book that was once part of the Scholastic Point Horror Series. Bianca mourns for Doc, her medical advisor upon whom she came to depend until she found out that he was the murderer. But now there is a new face in town, Dr. Byron Kingsley from Great Britain. He seems to take Doc’s old place. But somebody is still after her and Little Katie. She must flee the country. But even that may not be good enough.
On November 15 Cheops Books LLC will publish Dark: A Trilogy, a collection of three young adult thriller novels in the Dark Series: Dark 1, Dark 2, and Dark 3: Special Edition. Teenager Bianca Winters had no idea what was in store for her in the next few years when she took on a babysitting assignment across the street with Little Katie Shipley. That night her whole life was to change forever as a killer roamed around in the dark upstairs. She had to save the baby while the housekeeper, Mrs. Ingersoll, fell to her death.
In the months that followed the murder, Bianca comes under the wing of her new medical advisor, Doc, who helps her recover from the horrible experience. She falls in love with the young man only to have doubt cast on his motives by circumstances that hint that he himself is the killer. When he goes on the run, she has to still believe in him somehow. How could she love a murderer?
Katie Shipley’s parents move to California and take Bianca with them as her live in babysitter. Bianca thinks that Doc is dead, killed trying to escape from the authorities. But then just as a strange older gentleman from England appears and tries to kidnap Little Katie, a young man who reminds her of the one she has lost materializes in her life again. He shows her what has really been going on all these years behind the scenes, why Mrs. Ingersoll was killed, and what the bad guys want with Little Katie. The trilogy ends with the biggest surprise ending of all time.

New Cover For Wall Street Swastika:
Dora and Edward are trysting at the Waldorf Astoria while Edward is on leave from British Mid East Headquarters in October of 1929. Suddenly on October 29 on Black Tuesday they notice a commotion on the streets. All the action is on Wall Street. They find their friend and compatriot Winston Churchill sadly watching as people leap out window and his own American investments plummet.
Even worse from their own point of view Winston shows them a note. German spies are demanding the Lawrence maps, key to world domination, which Edward is hiding up his sleeve. On their way back to Britain Hitler doesn’t waste any time. He sends all sorts of signs and warnings of impending disaster including a skiff at sea that crashes into their ocean liner.
The Prince of Wales is aboard. So are the von Wessels, Hitler’s spies. His Highness is sympathetic to the Nazis and Hitler wants to hit him to help finance his rise to power in the face of the great world wide depression brought on by the failure of capitalism. It is up to Edward, Dora, and Winston to stop him as the clock ticks on. If they don’t separate the Prince of Wales from Hitler before they reach Europe, nothing will stop his rise to ultimate power.

Egypt Was Better Off In The British Empire:
Egypt may be a fully functioning state, but it does not function as well as it did in the days of the British Empire. Agatha Christie could write Death on the Nile because there were actually lots of Brits living in Egypt in those days and lots of tourists, too, as I advertise in Salisbury Plot where Dora and Edward visit the Sphinx and Helga takes advantage of the opportunity to chase Dora up the monument where she hides behind the Sphinx’s head. Helga then plants a cobra to attack her. Leopold saves all, only to get shot and tumble down the side of the Sphinx. And there was all that great stuff about British Mid East Headquarters, too, where Edward worked in several of the novels. Remember how he was defending it in the Battle of El Alamein? Those were far more interesting days in Egyptian history than now. Now you can’t even get there to visit the pyramids at all. Somehow the terrorists have managed to curtail a 2000 year old plus tourist industry. Remember how Julius Caesar visited Egypt during the Alexandrian Campaign? Now he would not be able to go ashore.

Hitler’s Agent Visits Paris, France:
In the wake of Trump’s visit to Paris for Bastille Day we have been discussing France. I have used France occasionally as a setting for my novels. I did use the French part of Belgium, Wallonia, as the setting for Inn at the Crossroads, my novel about Napoleon. But France itself has managed to wedge its way in there once in a blue moon. For instance Dora and Edward meet Churchill at the Ritz Hotel for a long luncheon right after they escape Hitler’s clutches in the novel Hitler’s Agent, which I am about to publish on October 15. They have just escaped Mussolini in Venice and sailed through the Mediterranean out past the Rock of Gibraltar to Paris going in that direction. Dora has Thomasina with her and is surrounded by guards that she has hired for the occasion to protect her from the Nazis. Helga, who is Hitler’s Agent, and Herr von Wessel make an entrance into the dining room. They send Dora notes about the Lawrence maps, key to world domination, with the cooperation of the waiters. Helga is seated by a statue of Venus. But Dora puts an end to that, too. It is one of the few occasions where Helga is in the same room with Churchill. The two don’t mix well as characters, mind you. But at least on that occasion Dora and Edward managed to escape back to Ware Hall in the south of England for more adventures. For the historical thriller, Hitler’s Agent, does not end there.
