Edward Ware Thrillers Newsletter May, 2018:

Armistice Plot will appear at the ALA Convention in New Orleans at the IBPA Cooperative Booth. After that it will be published on October 1, the day that Lawrence and Edward drove into Damascus to end the Great War on that front.

Lieutenant Edward Ware fights the Kaiser and Adolf Hitler in a century gone insane.
The novel Armistice Plot begins at an archaeological site at Carchemish in 1914 as Edward Ware’s father and Leonard Woolley close down their dig in the face of war. As Edward peers into the tent at midnight he sees a dark-robed intruder brushing past the figurine of an ancient Hittite king that he and T.E.Lawrence excavated at Carchemish this summer in 1914. Is this a spy sent by the Germans to steal the maps Lawrence is sketching for the British military? Edward first encounters the vamp who will haunt the rest of his life prowling among the finds, looking for the military maps that his fellow archaeologist T. E.Lawrence is drawing for the British government. All during the ensuing Great War Edward must fight to keep the maps secret.

Finally during the Battle of Damascus Edward and Lawrence defeat the Turks and make them sue for peace. They will sign the Armistice ending the war. But the vamp, though imprisoned in Damascus, escapes. Edward must chase her down. There are hints that she is fleeing to join with the Austrian corporal, Adolf Hitler, who is beginning a new movement in Munich. Signs of a new war appear on the horizon though the first has just come to an end with an Armistice that isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

This is an historical thriller about Edward’s contest to the death first with the German Kaiser and then with Hitler himself. It will determine the woman he will marry and the woman he will not. It will drive him to the brink of madness in a century gone insane.

Hitler’s Chief Spy is to be published this Friday, May 18. We are going to hold a party on our website: http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org in a chat room.

The villainess, Helga von Wessel, Hitler’s chief spy, struts boldly from page to page of this thriller with Europe at her back and all sorts of ambitious notions in her head during the lead up to WW2. As far as she is concerned it isn’t Hitler’s Reich. It is Helga’s Reich. She will wrap the hero, Colonel Sir Edward Ware, Churchill’s spy, around her little finger to prove it. Nor does it matter what Edward’s American wife, Dora, says. Hitler’s Chief Spy is the fifth volume of the Edward Ware Thrillers at War Series.

Old Faithful Plot will be published on June 16.

While they are hiding out from Dora’s husband at the Old Faithful Lodge in 1933, Dora and Edward are also hiding Lawrence maps that Churchill has given them and which Hitler would do anything to get his hands on. Enter Helga and Herr von Wessel, Hitler’s top spies. They warn Colonel Sir Edward Ware and Dora that either they hand over the top secret maps, key to world domination, or they will blow up Yellowstone National Park. They will turn the famous geyser basin into volcanic rubble – and the rest of America, too, which would be buried in volcanic ash just like Pompeii. And if that doesn’t work they have an even darker plot up their sleeves, one that would change history itself.

Questions For May 18 Debate For Hitler’s Chief Spy:

Two reporters, one pro Trump and one anti Trump, debate Hitler vs. Trump. Mr. Anderson is pro Trump and Mr. Foster is anti Trump. The debate will not take place on Facebook. It will take place on the Cheops Books LLC website at http://www.edwardwarethrillers.org at 2PM on Friday, May 18, one week from today. That is the day when Hitler’s Chief Spy will be published on Amazon Kindle.

The questions for the debate are as follows:

1)How many treaties did Hitler tear up? How many did Trump tear up?
2)Did Trump act like a 1930s dictator when he tore up the Iran Nuclear Deal?
3)What was the worse deal, the Anglo-German Naval Treaty or the Iran Nuclear Deal?
4)Who was the more clever politician, Hitler or Trump?

Chapter 1: Hamburg Harbor July, 1935

Edward looked from one end of Hamburg Harbor to the other, searching for his wife.
“Have you seen Lady Ware?” he asked Brigadier “Wickie” Roberts.

His superior was about to board the Deutschland. The ship featured the new Hitler turret, which they had just gotten a chance to review in the parade of ships up the Elbe River. He and Brigadier Roberts were part of the British military mission sent to Germany by Prime Minister Baldwin to celebrate the recent signing of the Anglo-German Naval Treaty.
 The brigadier shrugged. “Not recently.”

“When was the last time you saw Dora?” Edward pressed.

“Right before the parade of ships. She was in a heated discussion with Frau von Wessel, you know, the wife of the Commercial Attaché at the German Embassy in London.”

The German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, had been doing his best to distract Edward with probing questions. Frau von Wessel, Hitler’s chief spy, was likely after his wife about the same thing that Hitler was after him for — the Lawrence maps.

“Edward!”

A five foot five lady with her tightly curled chestnut brown hair pinned in a bun back against her neck rushed toward him. His wife of ten months looked rattled. Yet she managed to maintain her dignity and keep her sharply peaked black Elsa Schiaparelli hat from Paris straight on her head.

As he took her arm he hissed, “Where is Thomasina?”

“Lucy was carrying our baby. Now they are both gone because of that Von Wessel bitch!” Dora gritted her teeth.

“What happened?” he pressed.

“I was having tea with the other ladies. I turned around to ask Lucy if she wanted a cup. She and Thomasina had disappeared.”
“Hitler used the parade of ships as a distraction to kidnap our daughter.” Edward whispered to his wife as they advanced toward the boarding ramp surrounded by members of the German Embassy in London and various other military personnel representing Great Britain. “I would not put anything past that bastard after he killed Lawrence practically right in front of my eyes in May.”

TNT Fireworks Next Door To Cheops Books LLC:

Not only does Cheops Books LLC feel threatened when on the road again by none other than Disney, more close to home right at New Year’s it feels threatened by fireworks. We were just at the grocery store just down the hill called Safeway. Next to the checkout counter there are piles and piles of explosives. They are labeled TNT explosives and fireworks. There are signs that say NO SMOKING, and we have seen people vaping in the store. The management is ambiguous about that. The man in line in front of us at the checkout yesterday was buying fireworks. We were going to ask him if he was really going to use them considering how dangerous they were.

On New Year’s Eve the fireworks frequently land in our backyard. You can see them coming. You feel as if you are under attack by some unknown, dangerous enemy. And this in the very building that Cheops Books LLC calls home.

We hope the fireworks don’t ignite an explosion one of these days. We hope it does not burn our books. This past autumn we published the Dark Series: Dark 1, Dark 2, and Dark 3: Special Edition as well as Dark: A Trilogy. We are planning next year to publish Paris Peace Plot, Armistice Plot, Hitler’s Chief Spy, and Old Faithful Plot among other titles. We can only cross our fingers on New Year’s Eve and hope that they do not go up in smoke first.

Hitler’s Chief Spy Will Have Big Ben Behind Her:

Right now the cover for Hitler’s Chief Spy shows Helga von Wessel strutting around defying everyone and showing her stuff in front of a generalized European background. This will soon be changed to London by Cheops Books LLC. Look for it soon.
