My husband doubts if Churchill made an offer of peace to Hitler. He thinks that if he did, he didn’t intend to keep his promise. Maybe he wanted to bog Hitler down in Russia, but it would be just a trick. The big lure of the deal for Hitler, of course, would be not having to fight on two fronts at once. But he wonders if Hitler would have accepted a deal from Churchill.
