Greetings From The Lincoln Highway: A Road Trip Celebration of America’s First Coast-to-Coast Highway is a celebration of that uniquely American Road by Brian Butko. A century ago and during the 30s and 40s before the age of the interstates it stretched from New York to San Francisco and ran through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Nevada, and all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge — largely what is now I-80. The book details all the restaurants, hotels, and sightseeing attractions along the road. Dora and Edward in the upcoming novel the Old Faithful Plot certainly could have used the guide. They had to learn the hard way as they were chased from New York Harbor to the gates of Yellowstone National Park with German spies on their bumper. They had to duck into every auto court and roadside diner they could find on this piece of Americana with the atmosphere of the 1930’s, the Lincoln Highway.
