One of my most common thriller plot motifs is kidnapping, especially kidnapping little girls. Cheops Books, LLC recently published Nighty-Night, the novel about Mel who happens upon a dead body on the beach. It turns out to be a kidnapping scheme that involves her baby sister. The Dark Series, originally published by Scholastic UK and now brought out again by Edward Ware Thrillers YA, centers around repeated kidnapping attempts centered on Little Katie Shipley, the St Simons Island heiress whom babysitter, Bianca Winters, is sworn to protect. In the biggest drama of all, in the Edward Ware Thriller Series Hitler himself threatens to kidnap the only daughter of Colonel Sir Edward Ware and his American wife, Dora, Lady Ware, if they do not hand over the Lawrence maps, key to world domination. In this last of these three the kidnapping not only involves personal angst but has international political implications. Captive at the Berghof, the third novel in this series, is to be published on July 15 by Edward Ware Thrillers at War.
