Merle is having the dream of her life. She’s planing along in a sailboat along the waves in San Diego Bay. The wind is in her hair. The sun is on her cheeks. A hunk from nowhere suddenly steps into her boat and kisses her, saying, “This is just like a movie!” But then the boat sinks! She wakes up thinking it is a nightmare, but the nightmare becomes all too real when her senior class wins a trip to the fancy resort at the beach in San Diego on Coronado Island. And suddenly as soon as she hits the beach in her new bikini all her friends disappear and she can’t find them anymore. She goes to the movie theater in the lobby that is constantly playing old hits. Suddenly there they are up on the screen — all her friends in lights! But it is impossible This movie was made years ago. In fact it was made in the 1950’s! How is such a thing possible? Or isn’t it? Merle had better find out what’s going on before she finds herself up on that spooky screen, too.
