I bet you wish that you could have a “dark horse” candidate for the election coming up in November. Instead you have the wife of a former President vs. a non politician billionaire. It is unlikely you will “do a 1940”. For one thing it is too late. Wendell Wilkie, the “dark horse of 1940” referred to in the title of the novel being published on November 8, election day, by Cheops Books, LLC, became the Republican candidate for President that year in June during the Republican Convention in Philadelphia. He was an internationalist who wanted to fight Germany but he was up against FDR who already had two terms behind him and is now considered the second greatest US President. There is no FDR in the 2016 election. Nor do we have Nazi Germany as a threat and a world war in Europe raging across the Atlantic. But we do have a group of international pirates called terrorists who have been allowed a free reign. FDR would never have allowed it, Neither would Wendell Wilkie. It is worth wondering what has happened to America since 1940. In 1940 it was on the rise. Is it now on the decline? Or it is just becoming isolationist? We need an internationalist candidate at the helm, another dark horse out of nowhere.
