At first glance you can’t see any comparison between the raging fifty foot beast of the 1933 monster movie and the svelte Arab vamp who tries to wrap Colonel Sir Edward Ware around her little finger in the upcoming Old Faithful Plot thriller. But if you see Frau von Wessel (Helga’s married name) through Dora’s eyes, you will see the vamp framed in the same shot with the monster in a downtown Chicago movie theater in June of 1933. Dora cannot escape from the theater fast enough to save herself. Helga seems to be reaching out for her and speaking with the very same growl. She might even climb the Empire State Building if she manages to catch Dora and throw her off. She is certainly plotting to kill her if Dora catches her. And King Kong with his Beauty and the Beast routine might actually treat her better than the ruthless spy sent from Nazi Germany, Helga von Wessel.
