Why does Edward Ware Thrillers at War, an imprint of Cheops Books, LLC have two book covers for the very same novel,
Captive at the Berghof, to be published on July 15? If you have ever noticed the Kindle ebook format favors postage size stamp book covers that must show up clearly in a very small space. It has been our experience here at Cheops Books, LLC that it is better to have covers with light or white backgrounds. It is also better to make sure
the title is shown against the white background so you can read it written very small. That is why we have chosen the black and white image from the National Spy Museum that depicts the femme fatale, Helga von Wessel.
However, a paperback cover gives you more freedom. You can have a more complicated image with more detail. It can be darker in color, which is more traditional for thriller novels such as Captive at the Berghof. That is why we have the image of Dora, Lady Ware, with her face partly cut off presiding over London. You would never be able to see the details of London in a Kindle edition.
Here are our two covers, one ebook and one paperback. The ebook is available for preorder on Amazon Kindle. The paperback is going to be for sale on lulu.com, which is also the printer of the book, on July 15, the same release date as the ebook.
