Best Western King of Prussia calls their breakfast “deluxe”. The sign in the parking lot evokes images of steaming omelettes, hash browns, sausages and bacon, and perhaps an assortment of hot and cold cereals with pastries. But when we arrived in the breakfast room on Wednesday morning when the weather report was threatening flash flooding, we encountered a mob scene with little or no seating. Forget about the “deluxe breakfast”, you could lose sight of the rest of your family as people pushed and shoved to reach the hot coffee before it was all gone. What were they serving? Instead of a hot breakfast I could make out only cold cereal in glass containers that made it hard to shake anything out — that and a dwindling supply of milk. We ended up using our own coffee and tea. We boiled water in an electric kettle. That was easier than standing in line. Tip: Stay as close to the breakfast room as possible. There’s even a door to open with your plastic key while you’re juggling your food.
