I guess motels and hotels in New York can’t be compared with motels in more normal locations. Dora knew that back in the early 1930’s when she used to take the train from Pittsburgh and rendezvous with Edward at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. Today took the cake. We were checked into the Comfort Inn Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and directed to a room in the basement. I remember once renting an apartment with a window well, but I’ve never been in a motel with one looking out at my car in the parking lot above. Bright side: At least it’s on the same level as the breakfast CP in the morning. Believe it or not, this motel serves that in the basement, too. It’s kind of dark down here, but I guess that’s to be expected in the Big Apple.
