Do you really want to wait for the front desk to “inspect” your room before you check out? If you are like us, you probably don’t really check out. You pay as you check in, and then the next day load your bags in your car and pull away without ever seeing the front desk again. Increasing numbers of motels are participating in this “scam”. As you check in they charge you an extra $50.00 security deposit. Then you don’t get it back.
Other than that the property, Travelodge Bedford right off the PA Turnpike, which used to be a Best Western, is pet-friendly and has a large grassy lawn in the back next to a pool and an outdoor seating area for the restaurant. The rooms have two sinks, one in and one out of the bathroom, and are siightly larger than average. It’s all exterior corridors, which is a plus for us. It’s a disappointment that the hotel staff wants to start playing highwayman on the interstate and filching money from you.
