The Cracker Barrel Restaurant at Memphis East Sycamore View is a bustling place. Their waitresses try to keep seating everyone and serving them like clockwork. The food is Southern country style with sweet tea and all the fixins including grits for breakfast with your eggs and bacon or country ham (that’s the salty kind). The restaurant and accompanying shop have all the old time atmosphere they need with the black kettle in the fireplace and lots of gifts to keep guests amused while they wait for their food. But the one thing they can’t control is rude customers, especially when they occasionally get lax on how fast they seat the customers waiting outside on the front porch in the rocking chairs. I was purchasing a small cross body handbag that was on sale for 25% off. A male customer approached laughing, “I’m glad she’s not my wife. As soon as she sees something for sale, she buys it. My wife will probably buy something on the way out.” I guess that’s what I get for going to breakfast there on a Sunday morning when it was so crowded guests were backing up into the parking lot. The restaurant ought to do something to either seat them faster or keep them entertained.
