Zooming along I-10 in southern Arizona and New Mexico there are now all sorts of shops and diversons such as the Thing at exit 322 as well as Texas Canyon, the Dinosaur McDonalds at Benson, etc. But one hundred years ago when Edward Ware was roaming the area with T.E. Lawrence, it was a wild and lawless place. You can imagine the ruffians hiding behind tall monolithic rocks at Texas Canyon getting ready to push them down on the British Lieutenant and his friend from WW1. They had been hired to steal the Lawrence maps, and they would take them as surely as they would steal a horse or rob a railroad.
