How did i become a writer of thriller novels? It was all due to bats. No kidding. One March evening my husband and I were sitting on the sofa watching Mystery on PBS. It was getting dark outside. Suddenly two black bats winged their way down the hallway and out into the living room. Two of our three cats instantly started batting at the creatures that kept on dive-bombing them. They couldn’t fly straight. The other cat cowered in the basement where they didn’t seem to fly. My husband got a newspaper, opened the front door, and succeeded in ushering them outside.
The incident started me thinking about supernatural stories and events. I hadn’t written about them until now. But I came to think later that the bats were sent to tell me it was time to write stories about them — vampires, werewolves, mummies, ghosts, etc. along with mysteries and thriller fiction. They seemed to say, “Give them a good scare!”
