As soon as you drive across the Rio Grande coming out of Las Cruces spot the sign of the Running Indian. Before that billboards put you in the mood just like South of the Border in the Carolinas. Get off the highway. Stretch your legs at the Bowlins Old West Shop. Fido, too. Buy two statues, lots of postcards, and a magnet. Purchase Indian tomahawks, toys, seeds, purses, wallets, belts, T-shirts, and a huge variety of gifts. All Bowlins stores sell gas. The building looks like something from the Old West. Just part of the fun.
