As we were sailing out toward the Atlantic Ocean late in the afternoon of Friday, July 6, 2012, we stood on the balcony of cabin 4072 on the Queen Mary 2 and snapped lots of photos of the approaching Verrazano Narrows Bridge. The towering ocean liner had to sail under it with little room to spare. We got closer and closer. The top of the bridge seemed to get lower and lower until it loomed above us. It was a dramatic moment when we squeaked by without hitting it. I took a photo of that feat which I am posting here on Trip Advisor.
