QM2 Now Calls Its Transatlantic Voyages “Special Cruises” 12/3/12
Cunard continues to “dumb down” its website. Instead of calling the journey between New York and Southampton a “transatlantic crossing”, “a crossing”, or at least a “transatlantic voyage”, it now terms it a “special cruise”. I don’t understand this kind of lingo. Since there aren’t any ports of call, how can it be a cruise? You board in New York. You disembark in Southampton. Where are the shore excursions unless you are continuing on to Hamburg the way we were last summer.

Words don’t mean what they used to.
