Desert creatures wandering around sounds appealing until you have to live with them. It’s not convenient if you want to start a vegetable garden or if you have small pets. The backyard is already fenced in. That way we can let our Labrador Retriever out during the day time. Pigs can’t break through fences and besides Labradors are big enough to defend themselves against bobcats as well as desert pigs. In fact, bobcats are supposed to avoid big dogs. However, it’s fortunate that our cat is an indoor cat only. When he goes out he rides in a pet stroller. Where we used to live 3 miles closer to the center of Tucson there weren’t as many wild animals. Certainly I never saw a bobcat. And the pig raids were few and far between. (Once they did attack the birdseed in our carport and we had to yell to chase them away). There the big problem was feral cats outside that we had to feed.
