This is Rita Jolivet. She was a French-American actress who sailed on the last journey of the Lusitania from May 1-May 7, 1915. When the green waves knocked her overboard, she clutched her pearl-handled pistol, thinking she was going to shoot herself. But she clung to a raft and survived. Later she made a film about the incident called Lest We Forget where she battled the German Kaiser.
