We went to dinner at the Van Horn Cattle Company in May on our way through Texas. Big mistake! The steak was all right, but the waiter was horrible.(Very different from my experience three years ago when I wrote a Trip Advisor Review called “What A Find In The Middle Of Nowhere”). They served us key lime cheesecake for dessert, which sounds like a contradiction in terms. It tasted terrible. I don’t think it was cooked right and wasn’t safe to eat. I told them to take it off the bill. The waiter refused. I asked to speak to the manager. The waiter said he was the manager. Then he threatened to call the cops if I didn’t pay every cent. In the end he took only one cheesecake off the bill and very grudgingly at that, glaring at me the whole time. On the return trip through Van Horn in August we went to McDonalds instead.
