As soon as we checked in to the Holiday Inn Express Willcox we looked for a microwave and a refrigerator. Guess what? They weren’t there despite the fact that this hotel cost more than any other roadside stop on my trip to Santa Fe to work on my novel. The doors were heavy and hard to open both inside and out. The do not disturb signs fell off the door. They put a $25.00 shadow on my card despite the fact that I paid with cash. The hotel was too crowded. Even when we were loading the car and about to pull out a man picking up trash walked in front of our car. I said, “Excuse me, sir, you’re in our way!” The beds were uncomfortable. The internet didn’t work.
