_ Apparently 82-year-old former Broadway producer, Gloria Sher, and her husband, Frederick Evans, alleged that the row started when another guest made an anti-semitic remark at dinner. That led to the couple storming out of the restaurant to their cabin on a cruise from NYC to New England and Canada in October of 2010. Commodore Warner of the QM2 told the couple to stay in their cabin and hand over their alcohol. They were in danger of being put ashore in Quebec, the next port of call, but instead were confined to their cabin. Only part of their ticket price was refunded. Commodore Warner said the couple had engaged in “multiple incidences of disrespectful and disruptive behavior towards crew members and other guests”.

The only problem I see with this is that I wasn’t aboard the ship. I couldn’t see who said what to whom. I also couldn’t see if anyone else was drunk besides the elderly couple and whether the Jewish lady was being discriminated against in this respect.
