‘m Glad We Didn’t Take Our Pets On The QM2 9/3/12
We tried for 2 years to make reservations for our Labrador Retriever and our Ruddy Abyssinian to ride up on deck 12 to Hamburg and back. We always were able to get the two small kennels necessary for the cat and his pan on one voyage only, not coming and going. We could never get the dog’s kennel, and both years we tried booking in April the very first day that reservations were open. Everything was always sold out after the first hour between 5 and 6 AM Pacific Time.
But after taking two voyages, we’re glad we weren’t successful. Our pets would have hated the fog horn going almost non-stop particularly on the voyage to England. And they would have been on deck 12 closer to the bridge. What proof do I have? Our cat was up on the table at dinner time while we were watching our trip video. In that video the ship’s fog horn went off. The cat put up his ears, looked alarmed, and leaped off the table.
