We Drove Through A Four-Mile Tunnel 9/17/12
We were driving 71 in the Thuringia region in Germany from Weimar to Nuremberg. To our amazement we entered a tunnel that turned out to be about four miles long. We had no idea such tunnels existed anywhere on earth let alone in the middle of Europe. Such a tunnel wouldn’t be allowed in the United States, not even on the Pennsylvania Turnpike where they seem to be removing all the tunnels. No wonder they don’t allow lorries to drive on the road. The tunnel was too narrow and dangerous.
