I Got Locked In The Bathroom On The Way To Salzburg 9/19/12
We were stopping at a minimalistic rest area on the autobahn on the way to Salzburg. It didn’t have anything except toilets and parking. As soon as I locked the door to the stall, the toilet flushed. When I used the facilities and then tried to get out, the door wouldn’t open. I banged on the door several times loudly. I waited and waited. I heard a loud noise in the door. At first I thought somebody had opened it from the outside. I got out. But I didn’t see anybody around. Maybe it was a mechanism in the door.
I don’t know why the Germans link flushing a toilet to locking a door. In the States I think the weight of your feet on the floor triggers the automatic flushing mechanism.
What would happen if I had been locked inside?
