The Hill Up To The Obersalzberg Was The Steepest Grade I Ever Drove 9/21/12
We were watching the trip video of our car trip up the Obersalzberg to what used to be the General Walker Hotel and the Documentation Center. I documented ever turn of the road. I took pictures of of other houses and even a church on the way up. Then we got to the steepest part of the grade. You could really feel gravity pulling you backward. I told myself I had to put up with it as we did the switchbacks. We had to experience how it would have been in the 1930’s when Hitler’s guests drove the road. And that’s important for my novels.
