A Visit To The Most Gothic Place On Earth 10/29/12:
Our shore excursion to the South of England around Stonehenge and Salisbury was the spookiest, most Gothic day of the whole European trip. Stonehenge looked like a ghost town from ancient times. Grave barrows abounded. Salisbury Cathedral’s Close reminded me of the Tower of London. You didn’t want to get locked in one of those upper floor rooms. And the Cathedral itself had the tallest spire in England. I could imagine somebody getting pushed off the observation deck, and I hope that somebody isn’t somebody on our bus tour!
