One War Ends, Another Begins Immediately: Victory and Honor by Griffin

This spy novel Victory and Honor opens in 1945 appropriately enough in Lisbon, the neutral city that was a hotbed of spies during World War 2. Two agents are meeting to discuss the Gehlen Operation in South America that the Russians aren’t supposed to know anything about. No sooner is Hitler dead than Uncle Joe is becoming the enemy. The reader feels as if he should put on his battle helmet and get ready. But he knows this is going to be a Cold War and not a hot one.
