I bought a Tripp Lite Super6Omni Surge Strip 250 German France plug to go on a European vacation last summer. We didn’t have to use it on the Queen Mary 2. The ship had outlets for American and British surge strips. But when we landed in Hamburg and toured Germany and Austria for ten days by rented car, the surge strip proved extremely useful. There are enough plugs for your laptop, your Ipad, your Ipod, and various batteries for digital cameras — not to mention your European cell phone. I charged all these items every night. So I don’t know how I could have traveled in Europe without it. The only criticism I might have is that it’s so large that it’s difficult to pack in your luggage.
