The last time I visited the Tower of London it confirmed all my childhood impressions. It was almost too scary. Not only do ravens make their home here under the tutelage of a Raven Master, this is one of the most violent places that ever existed. Countless historical figures lost their lives here. One of the tourist attractions is the actual place of execution. People speculated that the Little Princes could be found here, though that is probably a legend about Richard III. Some people might feel that they are safe in this castle-like structure because all these violent happenings were hundreds of years ago. But did you know that Hitler’s right hand man, Rudolph Hess, was actually imprisoned here during WW2 after his ill-fated flight to England? To me it definitely seems like a place of ill omen where anything at all could happen. It’s creepy, and yes it can give you nightmares. Super gothic.
