We drove up 29N for the first time since 1998. Then we arrived at the Super 8 on Greenbrier Drive at 2:19PM and checked into room 115. The Super 8 in Charlottesville was the worst motel of the trip by far — that was until we ran into the Econo Lodge in Pecos, Texas which was even worse. The Charlottesville dive was the smallest for the US. The Ibis in Osnabruck, Germany might have been as small or a little smaller, but we had two rooms instead of one. Even the Super 8 in Little Rock was bigger! The sink was so small there was no room for my toiletry bag. They didn’t even have a proper towel rack, only inserts on the wall to stuff towels. Even the waste baskets crowded the room and I had to constantly take out the trash myself. The desk chair was too big for the desk and didn’t fit. It blocked the aisle. When I tried the CP one day, the orange juice machine spouted water. Ever after we went across the street to the 7/11 to pick up breakfast. Terrible! There wasn’t even enough room for our luggage. But it was one of about two places in town that were pet friendly.
