The Red Roof Inn in East Memphis Sycamore View is not the place you want to be unless you’ve got pets. Late in the evening the small parking lot was mobbed with dog walkers. There are few pet-friendly establishments in the area, and you have to take advantage of them even at the expense of not having a continental breakfast in the morning. Nor do they provide a box of kleenex, only a pocket pack. The beds aren’t the best either and feel like lying on a table. But this is what you have to put up with for Fido. And there are compensations. It’s right next door to the Cracker Barrel. You can eat breakfast there instead. And your pooch can get takeout.
