How Could Anyone Live In A House With A Thatched Roof? 9/8/12
When I took a shore excursion on July 13 to Stonehenge and Salisbury, I saw houses in town with thatched roofs. This is something I might associate with a tourist attraction like Anne Hathaway’s Cottage at Stratford-On-Avon, but it’s not something I would associate with a place someone actually lives or works. What happens when it rains? What about snow? Does it provide adequate insulation against the cold? How long does last? Does it smell? Nor would you think it would meet modern building codes.
I don’t believe I saw it, but I did. I even snapped a photo.
