Muller’sches Volksbad 1901 Pool Drove Past In Downtown Munich 9/25/12
This summer we drove past this men’s and women’s indoor pool in Munich based on Roman baths.We were amazed to find that it had a noveau design. Never before had we heard of this bathing temple on Isar, one of Europe’s most beautiful swimming pools. It was clearly Munich’s most stylish venue for swimming. Apparently the small swimming pool that used to be just for women is the one used to stand in. The old men’s pool is for lap swimming. Believe it or not it has a Roman steam bath. Different rooms are heated to various temperatures to warm up your body gradually. It also boasts a Finnish sauna with changing colored lights. Water is poured onto hot rocks every hour.
