There Was A Lot Of Fog On The North Atlantic 11/06/12
I hadn’t seen any fog at all in the past 14 years since I moved to Tucson, Arizona. Then this year we drove East and crossed the Atlantic to Europe on the Queen Mary 2. On the going voyage the sea was enshrouded in fog during practically the whole voyage. After the first day we never saw the sun. This went on for seven days all the way to Southampton. It brightened a little on the North Sea going to Hamburg.
How is it possible to have so much fog? Up until now I always thought it was a nightmare when I saw it, especially when we had to drive in it. The ship was blowing its foghorn every five minutes. I’m glad I was on deck 4, as far away from the foghorn as you could get and still be in a passenger cabin.
