It’s Amazing How Few Ground Floor Rooms There Were In Germany 11/7/12
During a ten-day stay in Germany and Austria, there were only two hotels with ground-floor rooms — the Best Western Park Hotel in Potsdam and the Best Western Imlauer in Salzburg. All the other had second or third floor rooms. All the public rooms including restaurants would be on the ground floor. Then you’d have to walk up long flights of steps to get to your room. ln Weimar we had to walk up two flights of marble stairs to get there. Is this due to lack of space? In the USA we usually can count on ground floor rooms no matter where we stay. It makes it much easier to load and unload your car.
