Birthdays Across The Miles Remind Me Of My WW2 Novel: 11/25/12
Talk about a birthday across the miles! I made a card on Shutterfly.com for a birthday that harkens back to last summer’s visit to Austria. We met Gertrude’s husband, Helmut, for the first time ever in our hotel restaurant in New Town, Salzburg. They treated us to lunch. This birthday card is a small way of returning the favor. But it reminds me of Europe and is a good way to use all my trip photos.
Besides cards for all occasions, I might even make stationery out of them. I like to think that the heroine of my World War I-World War II series would have stationery like that with perhaps a scene from the south of England where Ware Hall is located outside Salisbury. She might have taken a trip to Salzburg when her husband was Chamberlain’s official envoy to Germany.
